West Holt Medical Services is excited to announce Leighton Mlady and Emma Alder as the winners of the WHMS Foundation scholarship and Grace Alder and Abby Tubbs as this year’s recipients of the West Holt Memorial Hospital scholarship.
Mlady is in her senior year at Mount Marty University in the Nursing Program. She will graduate at the end of the upcoming school year with a Bachelor of Nursing Degree.
“At this time, I don’t know where I will start my career,” said Mlady. “However, my goal has always been to come back to a rural area and work in a facility like West Holt Memorial Hospital.”
Emma Alder plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the Fall to major in biochemistry. Alder plans to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree.
“Following college and medical school I plan to return to Holt County,” she said.
Grace Alder just graduated from Stuart Public School and will be attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She will be majoring in biochemistry with the intent to follow the pre-pharmacy track.
“After college, I plan to move back to our rural area and work as a pharmacist,” said Alder.
Abby Tubbs, also a recent graduate of Stuart Public School, plans to attend Creighton University and major in emergency medical services on the pre-medicine track.
“My major will allow me to obtain my EMT and paramedic license,” said Tubbs. “After college I hope to attend medical school to become a family medicine physician.”
